Prayer for grandmothers: Last Supper

Anchors: Psalm 52:8

Father, David said he was like a green olive tree in Your house, trusting in Your mercy forever. I want to be like that. Planted. Still bearing fruit. Not having to fight for my place. Not trying to prove I still matter. Not worried when the younger ones do not see the old trees. Just standing where You put me, bearing fruit on a slower cycle. Lord, I want to grow old like that. Not striving. Not anxious. Just trusting. The mercy is what keeps the tree green. It is not my effort. It is what soaks in from the ground. Today let Your mercy do its work in me. Let me trust it the way an olive tree trusts the rain, without having to think it all out, without having to control the timing. Make me an old green tree in Your courts. Amen.
